Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in power within the city.
Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then cleared his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could assist the group reach locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Explorers and Strategists tables.
Fans can look forward to finding out which players will be where in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on next week.
